Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered - nvlddmkm nVidia Driver

Just bought, 22th of january 2008, a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo P 1538 and soon the infamous "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered - nvlddmkm nVidia Driver" error turned up.

Installation of the latest nVidia drivers did not help, but I found out that the problem was related to the use of the wireless adapter (Atheros AR5006EG). Latest driver for Atheros was already installed.

Workaround for this problem

I simply installed a USB Wireless Adapter and disabled the Atheros Wireless Adapter.
Problem is reported to Fujitsu Siemens and it will probably take ages for them to create a real solution, but this workaround works perfectly.

UPDATE 13th of february 2008: Maybe the final solution to this problem

By means of Windows Update I received on the 13th of february 2008 the following driver:

Atheros Communications Inc. - Networking - Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter

Installation date: ‎13-‎2-‎2008 11:46
Type update: Optional

Atheros Communications Inc. Networking software update released in January, 2008

It seems that this driver is a real solution to the problem, I'll keep you informed through this page.

UPDATE 27th of february 2008: Problem returned

The problem returned today, although nothing was changed on the system. The workaround, as described above, is still the only solution.

UPDATE 12th of march 2008: Another driver update

By means of Windows Update I received on the 12th of march 2008 the following driver:

Installation date: ‎12-‎3-‎2008 7:29 Type update: Optional

Atheros Communications Inc. Networking software update released in February, 2008

UPDATE 12th of march 2008: Problem returned

The problem returned the same day. The workaround, as described above, is still the only solution.

UPDATE 28th of april 2008: Problem stays

Installed SP1 for Vista and the latest driver of Atheros. The problem returned the same day. The workaround, as described above, is still the only solution.
